Musical & Spiritual Nourishment
If you don’t believe that Woodstock was a diverse, counter-stereotype festival, then maybe this will change your mind. Before the event started, an Indian religious leader Satchidananda Saraswati gave a rousing speech that focused on music being the connector of people in the universe.
While Woodstock was not a religious event, the attendance by the late spiritual guru in a time when hippies were considered shallow went a long way in showing that people from all walks of life can be together and enjoy the beauty of music. With his charming word, Saraswati kicked off the festival that would turn out to be one exceptional occurrence in history.
