The viral photo of the McGhees also caught the attention of media mogul/ philanthropist Oprah Winfrey. She invited the family t to her self-titled show and presented them with generous gifts. Knowing how they struggled to make ends meet, Oprah gave them a $250K Walmart gift voucher.
On top of it all, Oprah sent Ro and Mia off with an all-expenses-paid Las Vegas vacation, a much-welcomed treat given that they hadn’t gone on their honeymoon since getting hitched. The generosity didn’t end there, and after the show aired, well-wishers sent the family an overwhelming amount of donations, including diapers.
