Chevy Chase — 1943
In addition to being a writer, humorist, and actor, Chevy Chase also worked as a screenwriter. “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movie and his portrayal as Pierce Hawthorne on the NBC comic series “Community” are among his notable achievements. In 1967, Chase was a founding member of the comedy group “Channel One.” In 1970, he wrote a one-page parody of “Mission: Impossible” for Mad Magazine.
As a writer and cast member of the nationally syndicated radio show “The National Lampoon Radio Hour” by 1973, he had made humor his full-time profession. In October 1975, he became one of the original cast members of the NBC late-night comedy program “Saturday Night Live.”
