Janis Paige – 1922
To become an actor, Janis Paige didn’t need to attend any lessons. To her surprise, she was approached by an agent from Warner Bros, and they agreed to a contract. Before appearing on Broadway in 1951’s “Remains to Be Seen,” she made a name for herself in various B-movies.
As per IMDb, her early parts as a movie ingénue were relatively pedestrian, but Paige never appeared to be at ease in them. Paige went on to star in “The Pajama Game,” cementing her reputation as a rising star in the theatrical world. The film “Silk Stockings” introduced her to the rest of the world.
