According to Country Living, tulips come in 300 varieties and 150 species in different colors. However, different hues symbolize varying things: white means apology, purple means loyalty, and red means love. It is not as common as a rose because this flower is mostly found in central Asia and the Netherlands. It used to cost so much, around ten times of an average worker in the 1600s.
