The Trumpets Go …
In perfect timing and angling, this shot created an illusion of a trumpet blowing off smoke. This is the Monument de Samuel de Champlain in Quebec, Canada, made by Paul-Romain Chevre, or Hamilton MacCarthy in some sources, to celebrate Quebec’s founder. This is erected on Dufferin Terrace, the very spot where Champlain made his solar watching in 1615.
He was a mapmaker and astrologer talented enough to voyage and explore. However, the sculptor wasn’t because, in this monument, the statue holds an old navigational instrument upside down! These days, the area has been a location to see street dancers and performers.
