Not So Leaning Anymore

Could this picture get any more touristy? People who have gone to this favorite attraction have tried to create an illusion of pushing the structure to make it look straight, but in reality and without perspective, this is how they all look!

However, it wasn’t constructed to lean. Its name, “Pisa,” came from a Greek word that means “marshy land,” which explains why this structure became unstable. The architects failed to account for the subsoil to hold the bell tower when they created a heavy foundation. They only noticed it was starting to sink on one side when they added the second story.
