People with galeophobia, or an irrational fear of sharks, will struggle to look at this picture for more than a split second. The massive size of this beast should have been more than enough to scare the bird away, but the poor creature had no idea of what was coming.
Despite this creature’s massive size, sharks are elasmobranchs, which means they do not have bones and only cartilaginous skeletons with the same texture as our ears. Still, they have good eyesight and can see color, which is probably how this aquatic animal saw such a small animal on the water’s surface.
