Detroit Lions Cheerleaders
Bringing energy and elegance to the field, Detroit Lions Cheerleaders in silver and royal blue made their official debut in 2016 under the leadership of Rebecca Girard-Smoker. This marked a new era, as the Detroit Lions were one of the last NFL teams to introduce a professional cheer team.
Their formation ended a long history without an official squad, making their presence a significant addition to game days at Ford Field. In 2018, they hosted their first-ever Junior Cheerleader Clinic and in-game halftime performance, which had 300 girls in total. Amazing! The team initially fielded cheerleaders from 1963 to 1974.
