Chicago Honey Bears
The cheering spirit of the 1970s and 1980s NFL was encapsulated by the Chicago Honey Bears, who brought energy and flair to the sidelines in their white, navy, and orange uniforms. Founded in 1976, this squad charmed fans with performances that became a beloved part of the Chicago Bears’ game-day experience.
However, their presence came to an end after the 1985 season when team owner George Halas passed away, and his daughter, Virginia McCaskey, decided against continuing the cheerleading program. The legacy of their performances, especially during their final appearance at Super Bowl XX, lives on. Their navy and orange pom-poms symbolized a chapter in NFL history that’s now closed.
