Bernie Sanders & Jane Sanders – Together Since 1988

Bernie Sanders is the longest-serving nonpartisan politician in the history of Congress. He first assumed office in 1981 as the Mayor of Burlington. Since February 2021, Sanders chairs the Senate Budget Committee. He is married to Jane Sanders, a political strategist, social worker, and college administrator.

Bernie and Jane walked down the aisle in 1988 making it the second marriage for both. Jane was previously married to David Driscoll and they had three children before parting ways in 1980. Sanders was previously married to Deborah Shiling Messing and they divorced in 1966. He adopted Jane’s children and he also has a son from his relationship with Susan Campbell Mott.
