Ben Carson & Candy Carson – Together Since 1975
Ben Carson Sr. held the position of U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development between 2017 to 2021. The retired neurosurgeon made several strides in the field, including becoming the John Hopkins Children’s Center Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at 33.
Carson met Lacena “Candy” Rustin in 1971 while they were both attending Yale University. They tied the knot four years later, and their family soon grew once they welcomed their three sons, as they are now also grandparents. Carson founded the think tank called American Cornerstone Institute (ACI) in 2021.
