Escaping the Mountain Lion
Ever wonder how deer survive in the wild with so many predators out there? Well, in Arizona’s White Tank Mountain Regional Park, one deer was captured sprinting for its life as a predator chased it down. It seems like deer just can’t catch a break; from flying squirrels to mountain lions, they always seem to be someone’s target.
But don’t worry, the deer population in Arizona is still going strong, with an estimated 190,000 of them living in the state compared to only 2,700 mountain lions, according to Deer Friendly and Wildlife Informer. So, while it may be tough for individual deer, they hold their own.
