According to the nonprofit Whitetails Unlimited, the act of licking one another is typically initiated by the more dominant deer and helps them get rid of external parasites that could wreak havoc if left unchecked. So, not only is it cute, but it’s also practical! Who needs hair care products when one’s got their trusty herd mate?
