Leleti Khumalo – “Sarafina!”

Leleti Khumalo was born in 1970, and she is an actress best known for her roles in “Sarafina!,” “Hotel Rwanda,” and “Invictus.” TV audiences also know her from “Imbewu: The Seed” soap opera, where she starred in 2018 and 2019. Leleti’s career started all the way back in the 80s.

At that time, she was auditioning for Mbongeni Ngema, an acclaimed writer and producer from South Africa, and he not only included Leleti in what was to become his future international blockbuster success, Sarafina!, but the title character of Sarafina was written for her. Leleti was married to Ngema, but she is currently married to Skhutazo Winston Khanyile, with whom she has twins.
