Never say never; this is perhaps what Mexico feels whenever the opportunity to join the World Cup arises. According to Sports Illustrated, the country has yet to bag its first trophy, only reaching the quarterfinals two times. Still, it has hosted the prestigious tournament twice, in 1970 and 1986.
Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca also marks one of the two stadiums to have ever been the venue of the competition. As such, this lady still has a lot to smile about, especially since her nation has a lot of things to be proud of apart from its hospitality in hosting the World Cup.
