Yann Sommer – €3.2 Million
While some soccer injuries are unfortunate for one player, they can be a blessing in disguise for another, as Swizz goalkeeper Yann Sommer would explain. The former Borussia Mönchengladbach shot-stopper joined Bayern Munich in January 2023 to replace the unfortunate Manuel Neuer, who broke his leg at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The move to the Munich football giant is a huge career leap, albeit in his later years, but Sommer also got a hefty rise in his salary. His contract shows an annual income of €3.2 million, a significant rise from his previous Mönchengladbach income of €2.2 million yearly.
