George W. Bush – Texas, $1.3 Million

In November 2021, CNN reported that former presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush were trying to convince Americans to build a National Medal of Honor Museum. It’s not usual to see a former Republican president work alongside his Democratic colleagues, but Bush may be drawing some inspiration from his peaceful 1,600-acre Texas estate.

Bush’s Texas ranch is so famous that it has its own name—Prairie Chapel Ranch—and Wikipedia page! Remarkably, the proud Texan former president was able to snatch the place for just $1.3 million in the late ’90s, with a little help from the former Texas Secretary of State Elton Boomer.
