In 2021, the successor of Nancy McFarlane as the Mayor of Raleigh, Mary-Ann Baldwin, is having a rough time. She was targeted by protestors who blamed her for “gentrification,” which may cause local property prices to rise exponentially. If that’s the case, the news isn’t so bad for McFarlane, who now works as a pharmacist and lives in one of Raleigh’s most expensive homes.

She acquired her Raleigh mansion in 2013, paying a splashy $2.1 million for the property. The house is probably worth even more nowadays and features 3,900 square feet of living space and a beautiful garden.
