One of Avril Lavigne’s greatest hits that introduced her to stardom was “Sk8er Boi,” and many might not know that she was a skater girl herself. In an interview with ESPN, she revealed that her father had her on ice skates in the backyard when she was just two years old.
She played the right-winger for the boys’ hockey league during high school and was an MVP awardee twice. At age 16, Lavigne had to shelf her skates after signing a recording contract. She became the “Pop Punk Queen” and released highly successful albums. However, she also admitted bringing her skates on tour to play street hockey.
