Carl Lewis (Born in 1961)
Carl Lewis is a former American track and field athlete who has won nine Olympic gold medals and ten world championship medals, including eight gold and one Olympic silver medal. His accomplishments have led to various accolades, including being named “Olympian of the Century” by Sports Illustrated.
Lewis was also votedĀ “World Athlete of the Century” by theĀ International Association of Athletics Federations. After retiring from active sports, he starred in several films where he often portrayed himself. In 2001, he established the Carl Lewis Foundation, which is an organization that focuses on promoting health and fitness. He is also active in various other charity organizations.
