Rickey Henderson (Born in 1958)
Rickey Henderson played for twenty seasons in Major League Baseball as a left fielder. He earned the nickname “Man of Steal” for his stolen bases, and he was named the American League’s Most Valuable Player in 1990. He hit over twenty home runs in four seasons during his entire career.
Henderson last appeared in a major league game in 2003 but continued to play for independent minor leagues. He officially retired from baseball in 2007; he was the best leadoff hitter and base stealer in baseball history. And his trademark “snatch catch” was quite something.
