Mia Hamm is considered one of the greatest soccer players, man or woman; the U.S. has produced. She is a two-time gold medalist and a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. She led the American women’s soccer national team to three Olympic Games, including 1996 in Atlanta, the first time women’s soccer was played.
She has been named twice as FIFA World Player of the Year and was hailed by Pele as one of FIFA’s 125 greatest living players, and he included her in the FIFA 100 to celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary. She is a co-owner of Los Angeles FC and a global ambassador for FC Barcelona.
