Serena Williams (Born in 1981)
Serena Williams started playing tennis when she was only four years old, with her father and mother as her coaches. At age nine, her family moved to California, where she attended the tennis academy of Rick Macci, who also provided her with coaching. Williams is credited with revolutionizing women’s tennis with her powerful style of play.
She has won 23 Grand slam titles in the open era, which is more than any tennis player, male or female. During her career, Williams has teamed up with her sister Venus for doubles titles, and together they have won 22 titles. The titles include three Olympic gold medals.
