Before Verona appeared on German television, the Bolivian beauty from Germany won a number of Miss contests. She also had a surprise hit with Lied Ritmo de La Noche and then became part of the band Chocolate . However, she brought her short marriage to Dieter Bohlen into the focus of the media, the two were only married for four weeks. A mudslinging in the media ensued.
