James May – £30 Million
James May and his buddies from “Top Gear,” Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, broke the internet in 2015 when they split from the BBC to sign a groundbreaking £185 million deal with Netflix. The trio would then launch their successful motoring show, “The Grand Tour,” on the streaming giant.
May’s lucrative partnership with his “Top Gear” band of brothers began in 2003 when he brought a new thoughtful and methodical approach to the show which earned him the nickname ‘Captain Slow.’ In July 2021, the three of them were back at it again–wreaking havoc and reviewing the occasional luxurious fast car or two in “The Grad Tour: Lochdown Special.”
