The former British Prime Minister Theresa May was among the high-profile British politicians to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. A highly influential Conservative figure in the United Kingdom, May collected a reported annual salary of about £79K while working as an MP. However, that sum only tells half the story.
While May’s salary as a public servant seems relatively underwhelming, the money she made outside of Parliament isn’t. According to Tatler, she was paid as much as £115K per speech in 2021! As reported by Business Insider, she earned a total of £1.86 million in the two years since she left office.
