As an African American, the talk show host and actress Oprah Winfrey has made some record-breaking achievements in her time. At some point, she was the only Black billionaire globally, and Forbes revealed her net worth as of 2021 to be $2.5 billion.

Considering Winfrey’s success, it’s fascinating to know she came from a very poor family and was once scraping by just to meet her needs. She once worked at a local grocery store and even stole money from her mother so that she could spend it like her rich peers in school.
