J.K. Rowling – $3 Million, Edinburgh

In 2020, J.K. Rowling renovated her deluxe house in Edinburgh after erecting two four-foot high pillars for a new entrance, a new kitchen, scullery, and a pantry. The 162-acre Perthshire estate is also where the “Harry Potter” author wrote four of the books in her popular series.

Fans of “Harry Potter” would undoubtedly be familiar with Rowling’s rags to riches story, penning one of the most famous fictional novels of all time, which enabled her to buy the $3 million mansion. In 2021, Rowling’s private home address was leaked online by alleged transgender activists, and in November, she went on record to condemn these actions.
