Avril Lavigne is undoubtedly one of Canada’s most famous exports. Her album, “Let Go,” is officially the highest-selling album of the 21st century by a Canadian artist. Since Lavigne can boast of such a record, it’s not so surprising that she makes a reported annual salary of $10 million.

That figure is a far cry from the $2 million-plus contract she signed with Arista records when she was 16 years old. Now she’s an international pop star with gold-certified albums. Her 2019 “Head Above Water” was a success as it hit the top ten in the charts of several countries, including Japan, Canada, and Germany.
