Danai Gurira – Psychology – Macalester College
Danai Gurira, known for her portrayal of Okoye in the Marvel superhero film “Black Panther,” has left a lasting impression on audiences. She reprised her role in the 2022 sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Beyond her acting career, Gurira is also a Tony-nominated playwright for her Broadway play “Eclipsed.”
Gurira is also an accomplished academic, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Macalester College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from New York University. Her diverse background in both the arts and academia has undoubtedly contributed to her success as an actress and writer.
