Pau Gasol is a basketball legend, with an impressive resume of achievements that few can match. With six NBA All-Star selections and two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Gasol is considered one of the greatest players of all time.
Interestingly, Gasol’s upbringing was focused on health and medicine, with his mother working as a doctor and his father as a senior nurse. With a desire to make a difference, Gasol initially enrolled in medical school at the University of Barcelona, hoping to find a cure for HIV/AIDS. However, his passion for basketball proved to be too strong, and he ultimately dropped out to pursue his athletic career full-time.
