A Spitting Image Of His Poppa

Spit-ups are a normal occurrence with infants, and in most cases it’s harmless. It’s a result of what’s known as gastroesophageal reflux or in simple terms, infant acid reflux. Most tots outgrow it when they turn one year old and the only cause for concern is if the frequency is high and it affects the infant’s weight.

Newborns have a different food experience compared to adults and older children. Research reveals that they don’t detect bitterness before turning two to three months old. Tots also only start picking up on saltiness when from their third to fourth months. When weaning starts, often at six months, infants show a preference for foods their moms ate while expectant.
