A Befitting Send-Off
When the town of Wilmington received TJ’s body, it only fitted that they give him a hero’s send-off. He left a mark in the community, and they also wanted something that could reflect. The plan was to have TJ memorialized at the Snow Cut Bridge, which held sentimental value to his family.
TJ loved fishing at the spot, and his family petitioned to have a plaque erected at the bridge in his honor. It wasn’t an easy process but an overwhelming outpour of emails to the local state representative asking that they honor the family’s wishes.
