Saluting A Serviceman
Since Mason’s mother explained to him more about memorials and TJ, the young boy made a resolve to visit the cemetery every week. Mason and his mother hadn’t known that Donna was TJ’s mother at that point. Neither did she know who they were on their encounters at the cemetery.
All Mason wanted was to visit TJ’s grave and honor him for offering his service, and ultimately his life, to his country. It was moving how a small boy felt drawn to TJ’s grave, particularly to the point of visiting him each week.
