If this were “Jeopardy,” then the answer Alan Shearer would be linked to the question, “Who is the highest goalscorer in Premier League history.” But before Shearer became the most prolific goalscorer in the English game, he was a young striker at south coast club Southampton.

This is where he cut his teeth, and this is also when he met his wife, Lainya. They married in 1991 and have three children together. She comes from a time before the glamor of WAGs, and Shearer himself described her as quiet and awkward with the attention his profile brings. He was inducted into the “Premier League Hall of Fame” in 2021.
