Life In Ice
Alligators have been around a lot longer than humans and they, too, have evolved and adapted to their habitats. However, something we didn’t know they could do, is stay frozen in a state of brumation for up to four months!
George Howard, a Swamp Park manager, stumbled across some reptiles that were frozen and, at first glance, thought that they were tree stumps. After close observation, he found out that they were actually living things sluggishly waiting for warmer days. Quite ingenious, to say the least, and it’s no wonder the alligators live so long.
