Glenda Jackson is best known for earning two Academy Awards for Best Actress in two separate roles. One for her role as Gudrun Brangwen in “Women in Love” and another as Vickie Allessio in “A Touch of Class.” Her following projects received similar recognition, such as “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “Elizabeth R.”
Jackson surprised everyone when she took a quick break from acting and ventured into politics. She served as a junior transport minister from 1997 to 1999 under former Prime Minister Tony Blair. She later returned to acting and starred in “Three Tall Women,” which made her one of the few actors who achieved the Triple Crown of Acting.
