In 2006, some of us thought it would be pretty cool to round up some of the most unattractive dogs on Earth for the 18th installment of the annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest. Held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California, the competition was attended by hundreds of contestants.

Archie, the Chinese-crested-Chihuahua mix, might have won the contest, but it was Elwood who stole the show with its stylish black dress and hairdo. Others around him might have been going crazy over his appearance, but Elwood was seemingly unamused by the whole charade.
