Colin Powell (Born In 1937) – $60 Million
Another African-American who made history in politics was Colin Powell. He became the first African American United States Secretary of State and held the role from 2001 to 2005 under the Bush administration.
Powell was the National Security Advisor in the late ’80s and was also the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the early ’90s. He was loved by many, which helped him get a lot of book deals and paid appearances, leading to his $60-million fortune. A lot of people mourned his passing in October of 2021.
