The Wembley Finale – Paul McCartney’s Piano Breaks

Although Queen had already stolen the show, the headline act was meant to be Paul McCartney. Macca duly came out to headline, although it wasn’t as smooth as he would have liked it to be. That’s because during his piano intro for Let It Be, the one song he was going to play, the microphones failed.

He was inaudible, and no one could hear what he was playing and singing. Eventually, it was all fixed up, and as if to make up for it, Alison Moyet, Pete Townshend, David Bowie, and Bob Geldof joined him on backing vocals.
