Creating Hits – A Duet Born At Live Aid
The song, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me, was originally written by Elton John and his Songwriting partner in crime, Bernie Taupin. The song was recorded for his 1974 album Caribou, and on its initial release, it reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart.
But the number had a revival when George Michael released a 1991 music video of him and Elton John performing it during a live cover version. This was, of course, born from John and Michael’s original duet of it at Live Aid in 1985. Just another iconic product the concert created.
