These Beloved Stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age Are Still Alive And Enjoying Life In Retirement

Ami Ciccone May 18, 2022

If you’ve been around long enough, then you’ve surely enjoyed heaps of movies, TV shows, and songs from the Golden Age of Hollywood up to the ’70s and ’80s. Do you ever wonder what happened to the actors who gave life to your favorite characters and singers who performed the now-nostalgic songs? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place.

We have curated a list of 50 stars who are still alive and kicking, and most of them have passed their 70-year milestone. Nonetheless, you’d be surprised to learn who among them are still active in their careers and how much they have got going on in their lives!

Bryan Brown – 1947

If you’ve watched “Gorillas in the Mist,” “Along Came Polly,” or the 2021 mini-series “The Moth Effect,” then you are possibly familiar with Bryan Brown. His career kicked off on the stage, and he was a member of the Sydney-based Genesian Theatre. In 1975, he made his screen debut with an appearance in “Scobie Malone.”

Starring in “Winter of Our Dreams” and “Blood Money” helped him achieve further fame. Originally from Australia, he also had success in the United Kingdom with appearances in “Parker,” and in the United States, he had a lead role in the 1986 film “F/X.” Brown’s production company has also released “Two Twisted” and “Twisted Tales.”

Eric Clapton – 1945

Eric Clapton, the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is a British musician known for his exceptional guitar skills. He made a name for himself as a solo artist, releasing songs like Wonderful Tonight singer, and as part of The Yardbirds and Cream bands.

Clapton is 75 years old now, with a career spanning almost six decades. However, he is still active as a musician, having released his latest studio album Happy Xmas in 2018. It may be time for Clapton to retire, though, after revealing that he has a hearing disorder during a BBC interview in the same year.
