Ami Ciccone Apr 26, 2022

If you’ve been around long enough, then you’ve surely enjoyed heaps of movies, TV shows, and songs from the Golden Age of Hollywood up to the ’70s and ’80s. Do you ever wonder what happened to the actors who gave life to your favorite characters and singers who performed the now-nostalgic songs? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place.

We have curated a list of 50 stars who are still alive and kicking, and most of them have passed their 70-year milestone. Nonetheless, you’d be surprised to learn who among them are still active in their careers and how much they have got going on in their lives!

David Birney – 1939

As one of Hollywood’s most dashing leading men in the sixties, David Birney has certainly experienced women swooning at his feet in his prime, especially when he played the mysterious Mark Elliot on Love Is a Many Splendored Thing. But as it turns out, Birney’s not only gifted in movies – he’s also an excellent actor in the theater!

Birney has been on an acting hiatus for several years, and there’s speculation that his declining health condition might have something to do with that. Nevertheless, it’s great to know that Birney’s getting the best care possible – we wish him nothing but the best.

Sam Elliott – 1944

Sam Elliott established a legacy on his own, starting from his distinctive physique, mustache, and deep voice down to his numerous accolades, including a National Board of Review Award. Prior to that, he had his humble beginnings with minor roles on television and film projects.

Eventually, his breakthrough came in the drama “Lifeguard,” which led him to star in more films such as “Conagher” and “Ghost Rider.” For someone who has done a lot in Hollywood over the past decades, it is delightful to know that Elliott still lent his expertise though he aged. In 2022, he had a voice role in “Family Guy.”

Katharine Ross — 1940

Katharine Ross went through four divorces before she found her soulmate in actor Sam Elliott. Luckily, she didn’t have to try so hard to find success as an actress, as she was born in Hollywood, giving her an idea about how things worked in show business.

Ross’s roles in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Graduate, Voyage of the Damned, and The Stepford Wives earned her multiple accolades over the years. Given that she is 80 years old, her activity as an actress has slowed down significantly. However, she doesn’t fail to make the occasional appearance in projects like The Hero in 2017 and Attachments in 2019.
